Last week’s launch was a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to help celebrate.

Thank you for all the wonderful feedback, comments and messages. I appreciate all the notes and compliments. Yes Jayme Gatbonton did a fantastic design on the site. I am so delighted.

Warm welcome to all the new members of this community, so happy you are here!

One of the best compliments I received was from a woman who recently reconnected with me on Facebook. We had not been in touch since my bout with postpartum depression over eight years ago., as we lost touch after I moved.

When we look in the mirror everyday, we don’t always notice or appreciate all the positive changes and shifts we have made overtime. But when we jump cut say 2, 4 or even 8 years the transformations can be remarkable when we do the work on ourselves.

To this old friend who witnessed a darker more difficult period in my life, the change over such a long time was evident. It was a great reminder for me that my growing pains were not in vain and I have chosen to create a life I love.

Self care and celebrate.  These were two lessons I learned during last eight years that helped shaped who I am today and who I choose to become in the future.

Making the daily or regular commitment to ourselves is key to creating lasting change.

Choosing to make sacred space for ourselves and cultivating rituals that feed our soul can have a profound effect in our lives. This can be especially true for those of us who tend to do for everyone before ourselves.

Choose to make self care a priority. There is no right or wrong way to do self care. Choose the things that light you up and make you feel good. We are all different. What works for you may be very different for someone else. That’s okay.

For me self care options vary by season. This summer part of my self care routine will include long walks with my dog, working in my gardens and getting in some Nia and yoga classes.

What ways do you take care of yourself? Tell me in the comments below or hit reply and share. I’d love to know.

Celebrate yourself along the way.

Many of us forget to celebrate the little triumphs on our journey. When all we look at are the growing pains, they may seem more painful than they really are. If you tend to be like that, I encourage you do something small to celebrate the things that are working in your life. Do something kind or fun for yourself. Look at the successes.

To celebrate the launch of my new and improved cyber home I went to a Nia dance class. It was fun to move and dance with other women, especially on the last day for school for my three kids.

Dancing makes me feel good, more present and alive. Yet this is not something I would have done for myself before my bout with postpartum depression. I would only give to others.

Yes I still love to give to others, but striking a balance and including myself was a big shift for me.

How do you enjoy celebrating in your life? I have always loved to give gifts, it makes me happy.  Share in the comments below what feeds your soul.
